Police Patrol Neighborhood Of Slain Rabbi A Week After His Death
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- One week after the murder of a Rabbi as he walked to Temple in Northeast Miami-Dade,there was a lot of police presence in the neighborhood where the shooting happened.
Now, a candle memorial for the slain rabbi marks the area where he was shot to death.
For most of Saturday the neighborhood was filled with police giving residents hope that their closer to making an arrest.
"Just having all that police presence around, that was very comforting," said resident Karen Steinberg.
While others were comforted, some were on edge.
"It's been one week. Exactly one week ago today, I was walking to synagogue and it was weird. I was walking over my shoulder, with my head over my shoulder, which I've never done in my entire life," said Benjamin Kirshblum. "It's scary. If I was a little kid, I wouldn't want to be out, even during the day just walking to synagogue."
Streets were closed off as police canines sniffed away. A command center was set up as well.
Police patrolled the neighborhood, as many others observed the Sabbath walking the same path Rabbi Joseph Raksin did last week before he was shot to death by two young men.

With no arrests, the Jewish community were encouraged by a heavy police presence Friday in the neighborhood where the rabbi was shot.
A source close to the investigation told CBS4 there was a break in the case in the form of surveillance video.
The video reportedly shows a man matching the description of one of the rabbi's attackers.
He is seen jogging away from the area just minutes after the murder.
A silver or light colored Toyota Tundra with an extended cab was also caught on camera.
Police said the driver of the truck is not a suspect, but may have seen something significant.
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
