18-Year-Old Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An undercover investigation led officials Thursday to the arrest of an 18-year-old man on multiple child pornography charges Thursday.

Alexander Miller, 18, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, has been charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of use of computer to obtain child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography with intent to promote.

During an undercover investigation, a detective from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department located an IP address that was sharing child pornography. The address led officials to Miller's apartment in Ft. Lauderdale.

Authorities from several agencies executed a search warrant at Miller's apartment.

According to officials, during the search, investigators found over 20 graphic child pornography videos. Some of the videos had children as young as four-years-old engaging in sexual acts with adults.

Miller, according to the arrest report, confessed to "using his computer to search for, download, and compile child pornography."

Miller, also during the confession, admitted to being attracted to children, according to the arrest report.

Miller was reportedly taken into custody without incident.

The videos and images allegedly found on Miller's computer will be reviewed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited children to identify victims.

Police say additional charges may be pending a comprehensive computer forensic examination.

The FDPD in conjunction with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which included FDPD, Broward Sheriff's Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations assisted in the arrest.
