MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Ocean Drive, South Florida’s number one fashion magazine, was busy capturing shots for their July/August swimsuit edition ahead of July’s big swim week event—and CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo was there, behind the scenes.

Victoria Secret supermodel Erin Heatherton will be showcased in several sexy swimsuits.

“We’re looking at 10 looks in swim that run the gamut. It’s a few bikinis, some one pieces, super, super, sexy stuff,” said Fashion Director Samantha Yanks.

Top notch fashion photographer Randall Slavin is braving the sun and sand for this extra special swim shoot.

“It’s fantastic,” said Slavin, “I wish everyday was on the beach shooting Erin Heatherton. No one should feel sorry for me today.”

But don’t let the beach, the body, or the beauty fool you—this is business.

It’s a business 25-year-old Erin Heatherton knows well after being discovered on South Beach while on vacation at age 15. Heatherton has since become the ‘it girl’ of the modeling world.

This shoot is a full day with an entire crew of makeup people, stylists, lighting and more. And of course there’s always the pressure to be picture-perfect every time.

CBS4’s Petrillo asked Heatherton how she finds the right look and how she makes her face and body look its best.

“The more you model you learn the tricks. It’s like a dance; your body knows what to do. The biggest tip would be if you feel comfortable, you probably look good.” Heatherton said.

“With someone like Erin Heatherton who’s so good at what she does and has worked with top people for so long, you sort of point the camera and let her go,” said Slavin.

And the result serves as proof. The final product is page after page of Erin Heatherton proving why she is the success she is.

“It’s such an honor to be on the cover,” Heatherton said. “It’s an honor and a blessing with this wonderful crew.”

This entire issued is geared toward Mercedes-Benz’s Fashion Week Swim, now the largest swimwear event in the world with designers from across the globe choosing Miami runways as the place to showcase the latest in swimwear.

The Ocean Drive swimsuit issues is now out in stores.
