The Florida Handbook Returns After Hiatus

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) — Government officials announce the House will be publishing  "The Florida Handbook" after a brief hiatus.

Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford said after it would come back after not being published for two years.

The book is a guide to state government and Florida history. Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, called it the "most well-known chronicle of trends, history and facts in the Sunshine State." Former editor Joan Morris referred to it as the textbook on Florida politics and history.

The Florida Handbook was first published in 1947. A free version went live online at myfloridahouse.gov this week. This edition will be the 34th version.

The Florida Handbook can also be ordered on CD for $3 at the Office of the Clerk.
