Police Shut Down Doral Massage Parlors For Allegedly Soliciting Prostitution

DORAL (CBSMiami) – Two massage parlors, owned by the same person, have been shut down after undercover officials walked in and were reportedly solicited for prostitution.

The investigation, which lasted six to eight months, came to an end Thursday at New Oriental Massage and Sunshine Massage, both in Doral.

On Thursday, around 5 PM, an undercover detective from Miami-Dade Police Department was sent in and police say was solicited for prostitution—that was then authorities from several agencies entered New Oriental Massage to conduct inspections.

The owner was arrested for hiring an unlicensed therapist and the employee was arrested for offer to commit prostitution and no massage therapist license.

The business was closed and all licenses were taken.

At the second location, Sunshine Massage which is owned by the same owner, a similar scene unfolded.

A detective from the MDPD was sent in and police say was also solicited for prostitution. The procedure continued like the first business—all agencies involved entered to conduct inspections.

The same owner was charged again for hiring unlicensed massage therapist and the employee was charged with offer to commit prostitution and no massage therapist license.

The businesses licenses were taken and the City of Doral shut it down.

The months-long operation was a joint effort with Miami-Dade Police Department, Homeland Security (Human Trafficking), State Health Department and City of Doral Code Enforcement.
