State Drops Charges Against Adult Fetish Models Accused Of Animal Cruelty In Porn

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Charges were dropped against two South Florida models accused of animal cruelty for allegedly torturing and killing animals in fetish porn video.

The state of Florida dismissed charges against models Sara Zamora and Stephanie Hird in court on Thursday after the pair pleaded not guilty at their respective arraignments in late April.

"Everyone has an opinion of me that I'm an animal killer and I'm horrible but they don't understand what it's like to be humiliated around my family and my daughter. Everyone who knows me knows that I am not that type of person," Zamora said.

Zamora had been charged with eight felony counts of animal cruelty and Hird was charged with five counts of animal cruelty for allegedly torturing and killing animals in fetish porn videos.

CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald previously reported that Zamora and Hird starred in "animal crush" videos that featured animals being killed while the models participated in sex acts. The videos were produced by South Florida fishing boat captain Adam Redford.

Defense attorney Lody Jean says the state might have chosen not to prosecute because the statute of limitations had run out on the 3rd degree felony since the alleged incident occurred in 2006 and 2007.

"This was the right outcome. We're very happy, we always believed the statue of limitations had run out on this case so now she can move forward and put this all behind her," said Jean, Hird's attorney.

Zamora claims she and Hird were manipulated  by Redford into making the so-called crush videos.

Zamora said she was 18-years-old when she got involved with the man who made these movies. She said she was on her own, needed money and was tricked into doing something she later regretted.

"All I know is that I lost my best friend and my humility...I am humiliated," said Zamora.

Zamora said she and Hird no longer speak to each other.

"She was my best friend but we cant talk because of this," said Zamora.

Zamora was accused of "cutting a chicken's neck using hedge clippers" while participating in a sex act with a man, according to police. She is also accused of karate-chopping several rabbits' necks while they howled in pain.

"Adam, I hope you get everything you deserve," said Zamora following the court's decision to dismiss the charges.

Hird allegedly crushed live fish while wearing a revealing outfit, torturing rabbits, shooting rats and setting a pile of injured rodents on fire, according to a warrant from prosecutor Jason Pizzo and Miami-Dade Detective Mario Fernandez.
