MDC Sharks Bring Home 11th State Title

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Dade College's men's baseball team took home the Florida College System Activities Association State Championship – the 11th state title for the team.

Sharks Head Coach Danny Price was named Coach of the Year for the State of Florida. It is his first title as coach.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the Sharks claimed the Southern Conference Title and qualified to participate in the state tournament.

Head Coach Danny Price was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year and seven players made the All-Southern Conference First and Second teams.

Freshman Darren Seferina not only made First Team All-Southern Conference, but he was also named to the FCSAA First Team All-State.

The team began the journey on May 10 against State College of Florida-Manatee and defeated them 4-3. The Sharks also played the College of Central Florida, and for the championship game, they defeated Polk State College to claim the title.

The Sharks will play in Grand Junction, Colorado, May 24-31, in hopes of bringing home a another national title.
