Her son, officer Carl Patrick, was found dead in his Pembroke Pines home on Friday, May 9th. He had been shot to death while wearing his patrol uniform.
On Sunday, May 11th officers continued their investigation into the 53-year old’s death. Patrick’s uniform was among the items pulled out of his patrol car by detectives on day three of his murder investigation.
The discovery was made when his employer, the City of Miami Police Department, became concerned about him.
“Always responsible, showed up for work every day. He was out for a couple of days and we noticed he wasn’t showing up and that’s when the notifications were made and the discovery was made,” said Major Delrish Moss of the City of Miami Police Department.
The president for the Fraternal Order of Police, Sergeant Javier Ortiz, released a statement on Sunday to fellow officers, saying, “his lunch box as well as his city laptop were inside his police car which is consistent with brother Carl going to work.”READ MORE: COVID In Florida: 6,014 Additional Cases, 132 Deaths Reported Wednesday
