Coast Guard Searching For Man Overboard From Bahamas Celebration Cruise Ship

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a 30-year old man who reportedly jumped over the railing of a cruise ship returning to South Florida.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, they received word of a male who went overboard from the crew of the Bahamas Celebration.

The man has been identified as James Miller of Charleston, South Carolina.

The ship had departed Bahamas on Saturday around 6 p.m. and was heading to its home port in West Palm Beach when the man went overboard about 27 miles east of Delray Beach.

The ship is operated by Celebration Cruise Line. The company said the ship did turn around when they realized Miller was missing and searched for him but was unsuccessful.

The ship arrived back in West Palm Beach around 9:30 a.m and got underway enroute to Freeport, Bahamas at approximately 6:30 P.M.
