Miami Woman To Get Letter From President Obama

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A Miami resident is getting a hand-delivered letter from President Barack Obama on Sunday.

According to our news partners the Miami Herald, Congressman Joe Garcia plans to meet with Kendall Constituent Ruth Alcalá, 57,at his office to give her a letter from the president.

The letter is in response to a letter Alcalá sent to the president about two month's ago asking him to publicly condemn Venezuela's crackdown on protesters.

While Garcia wouldn't say exactly what was in the letter, he did tell the paper President Obama wrote," to say he is concerned about what's going on with Venezuela and what's going on with the Venezuelan people."

Alcala moved to Miami from Venezuela 24-years ago. She told the paper she won't know whether she's satisfied with the president's response until after reading the letter.
