Tropical Park To Host Homeless Pets Looking For Loving Owners

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- If you're looking for a furry friend, try Tropical Park this weekend.

Local rescue groups are hosting  a 12-hour mega-adoption event on Saturday to find homes for hundred of homeless animals.

The adoption of puppies and kittens will kick-off the festivities at 9:00 a.m.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami alone has over 60 puppies that will be at the event looking for a loving family.

Possible pet owners will have various breeds, sizes, colors and personalities to choose from.

Pets looking for a loving home will be at the park's equestrian center.

Admission and parking is free.

Adoptions will start at $20 for cats and $35 for dogs.

For those just wanting to have some fun, there will be children's activities, DJ's and live performances on stage. Kid's will also be able to enjoy an egg hunt at 12:30 p.m. with over 1,000 gift eggs.

The event will continue until 9:00 p.m.
