Police Search For Gunman In Miami Triple Shooting

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police are investigating after one person was fatally shot, and two others injured at a shooting in Miami.

According to police one of the victims, a woman, has died. The other victim police said is in critical and a third victim is recovering.

Miami Police say the shooting occurred outside the King Brother's Market at the corner of NW 13 Avenue and NW 62 Street in Liberty City. Police a man walked up to a small gathering of people with a gun in each hand and started shooting. Police believe this was a random act of violence and they are interviewing witnesses in hopes of finding the shooter.

"Motive is totally unknown right now," said Miami Police Spokesperson Rene Pimentel. "We can't do it alone. We need the public's help."

One woman who was visiting family nearby said the gunshots "sounded like a war zone."

As the community reacted to more violence on their streets, investigators spent the evening searching for clues. Police say the woman was shot in the stomach and died. CBS 4 News has learned that one of the men was shot in the back and is in critical condition, while the other man was shot in the hand is expected to be ok.

Police say the shooter fled on foot.

The public is weary of the violence and some fear simply walking outside each day.

"I have great grandkids and it's sad," said Dorothy Uko. "Any day I can walk out the door and get shot."
