Disney Cruise Crew Member Arrested For Molesting Young Passenger
PORT CANAVERAL (CBSMiami) – A 36-year old Disney Cruise Line crew member has been arrested on two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of false imprisonment of a 13-year-old girl.
Ahmed Sofyan was taken into custody by Canaveral Port Authority Police when the Disney ship "Dream" docked at the Disney terminal Thursday morning, following a four-day cruise to the Bahamas.
It's unknown how long Sofyan has worked for Disney or what his duties were aboard the Dream.
Thursday afternoon, Disney issued a statement by Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line: "We have no tolerance whatsoever for the behavior alleged in this incident. "We are sorry that anything of this nature could have occurred on one of our ships. We place enormous value on the trust our guests have in us, and nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of each and every one of our guests."
