Deputy Injured After Crashing Cruiser
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — A local deputy is recovering after crashing his patrol car into a wall on Friday night.
Broward Sheriff's officials say the unidentified deputy was responding to a shooting in Lauderdale Lakes when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a wall. A helicopter was already en route to the alleged shooting and was nearby to quickly transport the deputy to the hospital.
The deputy's injuries are not life threatening.
Authorities say the shooting ended up being unfounded.
