MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Jungle Island welcomed two newborn liger cubs earlier this week.

The ligers are a hybrid of a royal white Bengal tiger named Saraswati and an African white lion named Ivory.

The cubs were born with a cream color coat with brown stripes.

While they may seem cute now, ligers can reach 900 pounds and 12-feet in height when standing on their hind legs.

According to Jungle Island, the public will be able to see the newborn cubs as soon as they are given a clean bill of health.

“Currently, our dedicated team of animal specialists are nursing them around the clock to ensure they receive proper sustenance and nutrients. The next few weeks are going to be crucial to their survival,” said Dr. Jason Chatfield, vice president of zoological operations.
