Construction To Begin On Miami Avenue Bridge
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Road closures will take place next week as construction crews begin work on the Miami Avenue bridge over the Miami River.
The closures will be in effect throughout the area so motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists will need to find alternate routes or follow the detour signs.
The project is expected to be completed by March 2015, weather permitting. Work is scheduled to take place from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, although construction activities may take place nights and weekends from time to time.
The project is taking place on South Miami Avenue over the Miami River.
Contractors will replace the entire steel grating over the bridge and do other related work to improve the bridge. Work will be conducted in two phases to minimize impacts to local residents, schools, businesses and motorists.
