Police Release Sketch Of Man Who Attacked Woman In Kendall Home

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police released an image of a man who they say attacked a woman in her Kendall home over the weekend.

Detectives went door to door in Kendall Wednesday afternoon hunting for a man who tried to rape a women.

It happened Sunday around 6:30 p.m. in the area of 88th Street and SW 112th Avenue. Police say the 26-year woman was violently attacked and sexually battered when she entered her residence.

"He just physically attacked her in her doorway and attempted to remove her clothing," said Detective Robin Pinkard.

The victim was able to get a decent look at her attacker's face, as well as rather detailed tattoo he has on his left forearm.

He is described as being 20-30 years old with a tall, thin build.

Police were in the neighborhood Wednesday, talking to residents about the incident. Many residents of the family-friendly neighborhood were shocked to hear about the attack.

"People are crazy.  That's really really sad," said Gladys Rodriguez.

"It's actually very scary because I have a one-year-old daughter and there are times when I come here alone," said Ingrid Ortega, a resident of the Kendall neighborhood. "To see that he tackled her from the back is really is something.  I definitely appreciate them coming out to letting us know."

Letting residents know is just another way detectives hope they can not only protect residents, but also catch the attacker.

"That's something that we want no one to have to go through, to be afraid to go in your own home." said Detective Pinkard. "And hopefully with the help of the community we can get this person of the street."

Anyone with information concerning the attack is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (305-471-8477).
