APOPKA (CBSMiaimi/AP) — Two Orlando area teens were struck and killed by a passing car Friday evening while they were trying to push their broken car.

The Apopka Police Department says a man driving a sport utility vehicle struck the group of four teenagers. One teenager was able to get out of the way, another was steering the disabled car and two were struck and killed.

Officials say the car was being pushed off the road but was still in the way of traffic when the crash happened.

An investigation is ongoing.
