STOCK ISLAND (CBSMiami) – The skeletal remains of a man were found in a wooded area of Stock Island Monday.

Detectives said the remains were discovered off of College Road.

According to those same detectives, the remains were located about 10 feet into the wooded area across from Gerald Adams School and may have been there for months.

Foul play is not likely said detectives.

A bag with belongings in it and possible identifying documents –  including a Florida driver’s license – was found nearby.

The driver’s license is not from Monroe County.

The Medical Examiner now has the remains and will determine whether they are those of the person shown on the identification found in the bag.
