Man's Body Found Floating In Margate Lake

MARGATE (CBSMiami) – Margate Police are investigating the discovery of a dead body found floating in a lake Wednesday morning.

According to police, a man's body was found floating face down in Lemon Tree Lake, located to the rear of 412 Lakeside Drive South inside the Village on the Lake Condominiums.

A condominium resident discovered the body around 8:20 a.m. and called the Margate Police Department.

The body was fully clothed and in various stages of decomposition. The identity of the person is not known and the circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation, according to police.

The body was removed from the lake and transported to the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office where an autopsy will be performed to establish a cause of death.
