Bieber Given March 3rd Trial Date

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — International pop superstar Justin Bieber now has a trial date in Miami for charges related to his recent arrest on Miami Beach.

Bieber was arrested January 23 after police spotted what they called an illegal drag race between two sports cars driven by Bieber and R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff.

Bieber was arrested for driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and driving with an invalid license. Sharieff was also arrested on a DUI charge.

Breath tests showed Bieber's blood alcohol content below the .02 threshold for underage drivers. But police say a toxicology test detected the presence of marijuana and Xanax in his system.

A trial date of March 3rd has been set in Miami-Dade County Court. Beiber's attorney, Roy Black, previously filed a written plea of not guilty.

Just because the trial has a date doesn't necessarily mean the trail will start that day as various problems often lead to trials being delayed.
