Report: Autistic Girl's Cause Of Death "Undetermined"
LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) – CBS4 News has learned new details about the death of a 12-year-old autistic girl found dead in her Lauderhill home in the fall of 2013.
An autopsy report in the case states that the cause of death for Tamiyah Audain is undetermined.
However, the report says "The contribution of possible neglect cannot be ruled out in this case."
Child welfare investigators said that the child lost a large amount of weight in the months leading up to her death last September and had pressure sores on her body.
Tamiyah was living with a cousin when she died.
Lauderhill Police tell CBS4 News they will continue investigating Tamiyah's death and are planning to meet with child welfare workers and prosecutors to determine whether any charges should be filed.
