Ice Cube & Kevin Hart Star In New Action Comedy "Ride Along"

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - In their new film "Ride along," Kevin Hart plays the role of Ben, a fast talking high school security officer dating the sister of a hot-tempered street cop, named James, played by Ice Cube.

In order for Ben to prove he deserves to marry the love of his life, he joins James on a ride along, patrolling the streets of Atlanta with James to prove his worth.

CBS4's Lisa Petrillo asked the stars if they see carrying on after the movie to make a buddy film series together.

"I think so," said Ice Cube, "You know, I think that for this new generation, who wasn't around with 48 Hours or Lethal Weapon or even Rush Hour or Bad Boys, here you got another buddy comedy that's top shelf, full of chemistry and I can't see you not wanting to see more of these movies, over and over again."

From the start, it was plain to see this twosome clicked and had noticeable chemistry.

"It was definitely a great time," said Kevin Hart, "For the simple fact that not only did we connect, but I came in with such a high level of respect for Cube and his body of work, and I didn't expect to get that back, because I didn't know what I was walking into."

James plays a serious cop, while Ben is quite opposite.

"Yeah I mean that is Cube." said Hart, "Honestly, what you see on the outside is definitely isn't always on the inside, you know. Cube definitely has a rough look, as well as a rough history to him, but I think he is a good dude."

Petrillo asked Hart about his new found fame and about his career's sudden boost.

"It's a great feeling! I am blessed, I don't take any of it for granted, I understand how fortunate I am and it just makes me want to work harder, you know." Hart said.

Cube had some old school advice for his young co-star.

"It's really about being true to yourself. Don't be in nothing you won't go see and you will be all right."

"That is great advice" said Hart.
