Miami Marlins Host Auditions For 2014 Energy Team

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The Miami Marlins are looking for a few good dancers and performers. The team is holding open auditions for talented male & female dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts and break dancers to become part of the 2014 Miami Marlins Energy Team. The Miami Marlins Energy Team is a high-energy squad with a unique mix of gymnastics, hip-hop, acrobatics, modern jazz funk and break dancing. The Energy Team provides excitement and entertainment during Miami Marlins homes games and appearances throughout the community. All positions are paid. GALLERY: 2012 MIAMI MARLINS ENERGY TEAM The open auditions will take place at Marlins Park on January 25th, 2014. There are different audition times for each category.

  • 10 A.M. - Female & Male Dancers – Must have previous dance experience in hip-hop & jazz.
  • 11 A.M. - Co-Ed Cheerleaders & Gymnasts – Must have advanced tumbling experience or flying/stunting experience.
  • 12 P.M. - B-Boys & B-Girls – Must have mastered the art of break dancing.

Be sure to show up with a headshot, resume and wear dance attire and shoes. Each group will be taught a routine within their genre. Also, you must be 18 years and older to audition. The Finalists of the Open Auditions will move on to perform at the Miami Marlins Energy Team Audition Finals Show.  To prepare for the show, the Finalists will participate in a week of intensive dance, stunting, tumbling, training and conditioning within their genre at the Finals Boot Camp. Along with the boot camp, all finalists will be required to attend an office interview.
