Sunrise Man Charged In Wife's Murder Denied Bond

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – A Sunrise man accused in the murder of his wife has been denied bond.

Frankie Siew, 65, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Daywhotee Siew, his wife of 41 years.

Siew, 65, was arrested Saturday evening. According to Sunrise police, he confessed to detectives he killed his wife by slamming her head into the floor.  She died of blunt force trauma.

Investigators said Siew placed a 911 call early Saturday morning from their residence at 3391 NW 97th Terrace. The call came-in as an injury but when paramedics arrived they found Daywhotee's body.  Police said Frankie Siew remained at the scene.

People who live nearby were shocked to wake up to a crime scene.

"Police officers came to my door," said Patrick Roberts who lives a few houses down. "He's a real nice guy, helps everybody in the neighborhood and it's a shame for the tragedy that happened."

Roberts added that he did not know Siew's wife well, but said she seemed nice.

"It's horrible. It's a very good neighborhood and a shame it happened here," said Roberts.
