Bond Court Appearance For Sunrise Man Accused In Wife's Murder Delayed

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – A bond court appearance for a Sunrise man accused in the murder of his wife has been delayed.

Frankie Siew, 65, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of his wife of 41 years.  He was on the bond court docket for Sunday morning, but he did not appear.

Siew, 65, was arrested Saturday evening. According to Sunrise police, he confessed to detectives he killed his wife Daywhotee Siew by hitting her head against the floor which caused her to suffer from blunt force trauma to the head.

Investigators said Siew placed a 911 call early Saturday morning from their residence at 3391 NW 97th Terrace. The call came-in as an injury but upon rescuers' arrival, the Daywhotee Siew was found dead. Siew remained at the scene.

People who live nearby were shocked to wake up to a crime scene.

"Police officers came to my door," said Patrick Roberts who lives a few houses down. "He's a real nice guy, helps everybody in the neighborhood and it's a shame for the tragedy that happened."

Roberts added that he did not know Siew's wife well, but said she seemed nice.

'It's horrible. It's a very good neighborhood and a shame it happened here." said Roberts.
