ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — A central Florida man has been arrested on child abuse charges, which could be upgraded, after his five-year-old son was found dead in his apartment Wednesday evening.

Orlando-area authorities said Darrell Avant, Jr. had multiple bruises and contusions on his body when he was found unresponsive. Orange County deputies said his father, Darrell, Sr., had picked up the boy from school early after because he was acting up at school.
