Broward Beach Fails To Meet State Requirements

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Swimmers are being told to avoid a Broward County beach due to water samples not meeting state requirements.

Health officials at the Florida Department of Health in Broward said no one should swim at the beach near the area South of the Pompano Pier until further notice.

Bacteria in the water could create unhealthy beach water conditions and may cause swimming-related gastroenteritis.

The rest of Broward County's beaches test results met state requirements.

The results of new tests will be available Monday afternoon.  Click here for those results when they are released.
