UCF Clinches Spot In Final BCS

ORLANDO (CBSMiami) – The University of Central Florida Golden Knights team didn't step foot on a football field Thursday night, but was still able to clinch the school's first and last Bowl Championship Series Bid.

UCF, ranked 15th in the country, qualified for a BCS bowl thanks to the Louisville Cardinals' victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats. By virtue of a victory over Louisville earlier this season, even if UCF lost its final game this year; it would own the tiebreaker over the Cardinals.

UCF (10-1, 7-0) finishes the regular season Saturday at SMU (5-6, 4-3), and with a victory can clinch the outright American Athletic Conference Championship and an undefeated conference record.

The appearance in the BCS will be UCF's first and last because the BCS will be ending in 2014.
