One Person Shot In Florida City

FLORIDA CITY (CBSMiami) - Florida City Police taken one person into custody who they believe opened fire Friday morning sending one victim to the hospital.

Florida City Police said the shooting happened at 885 SW 6th Place just before 10 a.m. Friday.

A Florida City Police officer was giving chase to the possible shooter, but was injured during the chase.

An infant was also removed from the home where a possible suspect was taken into custody.

"I was all the way down there (pointing towards end of street) and then I come around the corner in the car and they were fighting," said witness Junior McNair. "And then that's when somebody got shot. There was two gunshots, boom, boom. And then I left. I ran."

The shooting victim was being taken by air to Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami-Dade County.

No motive for the shooting has been released by Florida City Police.
