Report: Miley Cyrus Leading Time's Person Of The Year Poll

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – She's already been named the Top Search on Yahoo this year, but could pop superstar Miley Cyrus twerk her way to Time's Person of the Year?

Cyrus led Time's online polling to be named "Person of the Year" with 20.2 percent of the vote. She was followed by Egyptian defense minister Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at 18.6 percent and Turkish Prime Minister Recept Tayyip Erdogan at 18.3 percent.

Cyrus also took to Twitter, which Time is also using to let fans vote, and asked her nearly 16 million followers to tweet for her to be named Time's Person of the Year.

According to Yahoo, Cyrus was the top search in 2013 followed by Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton, Minecraft, Selena Gomez, Obamacare, Amanda Bynes, Jodi Arias, and Justin Bieber.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the top-searched "what" question on Yahoo in 2013 was, "what is twerking." Cyrus famously twerked her way through a performance at the MTV Music Video Awards that left mouths agape.

The Daily Beast reported the performance sparked 306,100 tweets per minute which was second only to the 2012 U.S. Election.

There are only two days left in the Time Person of the Year voting.
