One Direction Is Headed To South Florida

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Good news for One Direction fans – the North American leg of their stadium tour next year will bring them to South Florida.  The bad news is fans will have to wait more than a year to see them.

The English-Irish pop boy band, comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, will kick off their 'Where We Are' tour on August 1st in Toronto.  The 21 city tour includes stops in New York, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles.   The final stop will be at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens on December 5th, 2014.

Tickets for the tour go on sale December 7th, 2013 at www.livenation.com.

The boys said they are excited to perform in the U.S. to start their worldwide tour.

"We simply can't wait to be back in North America touring and to see our fans," said Niall Horan.  "It's going to be absolutely huge!"

At the 2013 American Music Awards the band took home awards for Best Pop/Rock Album and Best Pop/Rock Group.  Their album 'Midnight Memories' has skyrocketed on the charts to #1 in 97 countries around the world.

With Sun Life Stadium being at the end of the road for the tour, South Florida fans will just have to be patient and listen to the catchy songs on their iPods.
