Brown, Toledo Pull Away To Beat Florida A&M 79-69

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Julius Brown scored 18 points and dished out 11 assists to lead four Toledo players in double figures as the Rockets topped Florida A&M 79-69 Monday night.

After Reggie Lewis hit a jumper to pull Florida A&M (1-3) within two, 54-52, with 10:15 remaining, the Rockets reeled off a 10-2 run, extending their lead to 64-54 just under two minutes later. The biggest lead by either team prior to that point was a 21-16 advantage for Florida A&M with around 7 minutes to play in the first half. Justin Drummond scored five points in the Toledo (3-0) spurt.

Ryan Pearson scored 18 points, Drummond added 16 and Nathan Booth had 10 for the Rockets.

Jamie Adams paced the Rattlers with 18 points, hitting 5 of 7 3-point shots.

Brown scored nine points in the final 5:37 of the first half to give Toledo a 42-40 edge at the break.
