Drama In Doral Drones On

DORAL (CBSMiami) – The drama at Doral City Hall continued into the wee hours of Thursday morning.

The monthly city council meeting ended just after 1:30a.m. and was packed with more personal attacks which included the mayor storming out after he announced that he would hire his own chief of staff.

The jabs began early on Wednesday night when Mayor Luigi Boria accused city manager Joe Carollo of "making signs" to the city attorney during the meeting. Carollo denied it.

The endless bickering is taking a toll on the politicians and the public.

"Every time I sit up here it's like a free for all. It's unexpected what each and every one of you will do and it's quite frankly embarrassing to currently be up here sitting next to each and every one of you," said Councilwoman Sandra Ruiz.

Council members also talked about Doral losing its bid to host the 2014 Miss USA Pageant, after pageant owner Donald Trump pulled out last week.

One item on the agenda they could agree on: Councilwoman Christi Fraga has been named the new Vice Mayor.
