Man Shot, Killed During Argument In Little Haiti

MIAMI(CBS4)---The brother of a 39-year-old Northeast Miami-Dade man who was gunned down outside his girlfriend's home in Miami is appealing for the public's help in solving this case.

"He's a good brother," said Emmanuel Cazeneuve.

"If somebody has any information, please come forward. That's all I have to say," he told CBS4's Peter D'Oench.

Emmanuel Cazeneuve spoke with D'Oench as his brother's body was taken from his girlfriend's home at the corner of Northwest 54th Street and Miami Avenue.

Miami Police say Juubert Cazeneuve was outside the home late Tuesday morning when someone came up with a gun and shot Cazeneuve several times after an argument.

Cazeneuve collapsed on the porch of the home.

"It appears the suspect came up on foot," said Police Sgt. Freddy Cruz. The gunman fled. It's not known what prompted the shooting.

Police sources told D'Oench the shooter is a black male in his late 20s or early 30s and is heavy set with short hair.

He was wearinga white shirt. Marlin Dormeus said he was saddened by the loss of his

best friend.

"I feel so bad," he said. "It was like losing my brother or a family member. He was such a nice guy. He was very friendly. I don't know why this happened."

Frantz Eloi, the President of the Buena Vista Heights Neighborhood Association, said, "We are very surprised. This is such a quiet neighborhood. It's normally very quiet."

There were emotional moments Tuesday afternoon not far from the home.

As Cazeneuve's body was taken to a Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's van, his girlfriend cried out, "Juubert. Juubert. Juubert. Juubert."

The daughter of the grieving girlfriend, Francesca Valin, told

D'Oench, "All I can is that he was a good person. That's all."

Miami Police say that if you have any information that can help them, you should call them or Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-tips (8477).
