Living Large Aboard A 96-Foot Yacht

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Welcome aboard the ultimate pleasure boat, an Italian made and designed Ferretti 960. The 96-foot yacht is the epitome of luxury elegance, and style.

Ferretti Group's CEO of the Americas, James Henderson, allowed CBS4's Lisa Petrillo on board from their Fort Lauderdale waterfront showroom, just before opening day at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

"This is largest Ferretti yacht they built," said Henderson, "The price is 11 and a half million. This is a boat we launched in Cannes in September, it's the newest addition to our entire fleet."

This particular yacht is privately owned. In the main salon, with elegant woods and hand-crafted leather trim, the high-quality is apparent in all the finishing.

"We have a group of designers in Italy that spec out all of the boats. We tend to be minimalist and contemporary, but you can basically decorate as you like," Henderson said.

The elegant dining room sits 10 people. Moving forward—a rare find—is a master cabin on the main deck—usually all staterooms are below deck.

"For a boat of this size, 96-feet, to have a master on deck is very unique," he said.

The large master bath has a rain shower and all the comforts of a luxury home.

Downstairs are four identical staterooms, each with its own bathroom, and each with its own queen-size bed that can also be separated.

The Bridge is the ultimate command center.

"It's state of the art electronics. You can switch the screens between different views: all of engine activity, weather radar, chart-plotting, even cameras all over," Hendersen said.

The outdoor areas, with both covered and uncovered seating, are breath-taking. This particular 960 has a custom jacuzzi outside, in addition to the full wet bar and barbeque grill area.

This Grand Dame of Ferretti Yachts is one of 20 boats on display for the company at this year's boat show. Of the seven brands Ferretti owns, the 27-foot sexy Riva sells out the fastest at one million dollars.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is on through Monday but the Feretti Showroom, off the 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale, is open year round.
