Water Main Break On Alton Prompts Precautionary Water Boil Advisory
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – A water main break on Alton Road didn't help rush hour traffic Wednesday evening--and also left some customers without water for a few hours. Now, a precautionary boil water advisory is in effect.
Temporary repairs have been completed and the water was restored Wednesday night for 85 customers. But, for those 85 people affected, a precautionary boil water order is now in effect.
The water main break happened at Alton Road and 10th street, where the road's construction project is currently happening.
The construction crews did not hit the water main, according to Heather Leslie, a spokesperson with FDOT, but apparently just broke.
The break is expected to be fixed by 1 a.m. Thursday.
