MIAMI (CBSMiami) – In honor of National Drug Take-Back Day, Miami-Dade Police and the Broward Sheriff’s Office are holding drug take-back events.
The event allows residents to turn in unused or expired prescription medications with no questions asked.
Those in Miami-Dade County can stop by the Miami Police Headquarters lobby located at 400 NW 2 Avenue and lasts from 10. a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you’re in Broward County, stop by Bass Pro Shops located at 200 Gulf Stream Way in Dania Beach and lasts from 9 a.m. to noon.
Both events are free of charge.
The take-back events are organized by the Drug Enforcement Agency in conjunction with state and local law enforcement to provide a safe way to get rid of medications no longer needed and prevent prescription drug abuse.
