Piano Man Coming Back To South Florida

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – The legendary Piano Man is coming to South Florida. Billy Joel, who hasn't toured America since 2010, announced a concert at the BB&T Center on January 7th, 2014.

The concert will be Joel's first in South Florida since 2009.

Billy Joel is one of the highest grossing touring artists in the world and has won six Grammy Awards including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award.

Last week, Billy Joel thrilled the crowd as he performed his first Long Island concert in 11 years.

In December of 2012, he joined an esteemed line-up of artists at "12-12-12," a one-night only concert at Madison Square Garden to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  He changed the lyrics to "Miami 2017" to make the song relate to all the damage caused by Sandy.  Earlier this year, he played Jazz Fest in New Orleans and the Soundwave Festival in Australia. He heads to England and Ireland for a four-show tour later this month.
