Video Shows Violent Jolt When Tow Truck Collides With Bus

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Days after a tow truck driver slammed into a Broward County Transit bus, some passengers are still on the mend.

"My arm feels like pins and needles. I have a headache that won't get away," Myrna Franksawari tells CBS 4 News.

Franksawari's right arm remains in a sling.

She was a passenger on a crowded bus traveling down Sample Road last Thursday afternoon when the unthinkable happened.

Just as the driver pulled to the curb to pick up a fare at 14th Avenue, a tow truck who was hauling a car hit the back of the bus.

"All of a sudden it was like bam!  The bus driver opened the door and everyone started running out," said Franksawari.

CBS 4 News has obtained the transit bus video from the incident. When you view the video, you can hear people screaming and see passengers lurching forward at the time of impact.

"All of a sudden it was like bam! The bus driver opened the door and everyone started running out," said Franksawari.

"The tow truck driver was walking around. The bus driver asked him what happened and he said he was trying to go around us or something."

The drivers and 30 passengers were transported to the hospital, most with non-life threatening injuries.
