Fins Trade For Bryant McKinnie

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins know they have to make fixes on the offensive line and Monday tried to do exactly that.

The Dolphins acquired left tackle Bryant McKinnie in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens Monday in exchange for a conditional late-round draft pick.

"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with the Ravens for Bryant," said Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland. "He is a proven and experienced player who will be a great addition to the offensive line."

McKinnie talked to the Dolphins in the offseason about signing as an unrestricted free agent. He instead chose to return to Baltimore where he was coming off a Super Bowl championship with the Ravens last season.

But, McKinnie's play was in decline this year and the Ravens acquired Eugene Monroe to replace McKinnie at left tackle.

McKinnie has never missed a game in his career due to injury and will likely take over at either right tackle for Tyson Clabo or his more natural position of left tackle for Jonathan Martin. In the latter scenario, Martin could move to right tackle.

Either way, Tyson Clabo, who allowed two fourth-quarter sacks on Sunday and who has given up 7 sacks on the season is likely done as a Miami Dolphin.
