Philyah, Howard Spoil Florida A&M Homecoming 21-10

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Anthony Philyaw ran for a career-best 121 yards as Howard snapped a four-game losing streak to beat Florida A&M 21-10 on Saturday.

Philyaw ran for two touchdowns after setting up the Bison's first score on a 62-yard run to the FAMU 1-yard line. Howard (2-5, 1-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored on each of its first three possessions to go ahead 21-3 in the second quarter.

The Rattlers (2-5, 1-2) scored their only touchdown on a 2-yard run by Lemond Buice to cap a 75-yard drive before the end of the half.

From there, the Bison defense held the Rattlers completely in check, allowing only one first down throughout the second half.

Damien Fleming was 13 of 19 for 105 yards for the Rattlers.

Howard won its third straight game against the Rattlers for the first time and spoiled Florida A&M's homecoming for the second straight visit to Tallahassee.
