A-Rod Denies Report He Paid $305K For Evidence

NEW YORK (AP) — Alex Rodriguez reportedly paid $305,000 for evidence that could be used in litigation involving the anti-aging clinic in Florida.

The report in Saturday's Daily News was denied by a spokesman for the Yankees third baseman. Ron Berkowitz said in an email to The Associated Press that "certain parties" are "leaking false information."

The paper said Rodriguez and his representatives confirmed the payments during testimony this week in the grievance hearing to overturn his 211-game suspension.

Citing an unidentified source familiar the proceedings, the News said Rodriguez and his surrogates spent the money to purchase evidence that included videotapes, documents and affidavits.

There have been eight days of hearings, with the case scheduled to resume the week of Nov. 18.
