Cuban Migrants Returned To Homeland

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — More than 60 Cubans were returned to their homeland last week.

The Coast Guard returned the 63 migrants to Bahia de Cabanas, Cuba, after being repatriated.

Coast Guard officials say the migrants were picked up in five separate migrant interdictions between Sept. 25 and Sept. 29. Customs and Border Protection aircrews alerted Coast Guard vessels to the migrants aboard "several unseaworthy and overloaded rustic vessels" in the Florida Straits.

Once aboard Coast Guard vessels, the migrants received food, water and medical care.
