Changes To "Bulky" Waste Pickup In Miami-Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Changes are on the way for bulky waste pickup services in Miami-Dade County.

The Public Works and Waste Management Department will switch from a fiscal year basis to a calendar year basis beginning Tuesday, October 1.

The change will mean households are entitled to two bulky waste pickups up to 25 cubic yards during the calendar year.

So the transition can be a smooth one, households will get one extra bulky waste pickup (one-time only) from October 1, 2013 through December 31, 2014.  The one-time extra pick up will only take place during the specified dates.

Public Works and Waste Management is making the change to cut costs.
