"Live Like Bella Way" To Be Designated Monday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A street will be named Monday to honor the life of a young girl who died of cancer.

"Live Like Bella Way" will be designated on SW 107th Avenue  from SW 120 Street to 136 Street at 4:30 p.m.

Bella Rodriguez-Torres died in May after a six-year battle with cancer.

Bella's positive attitude captured the community and the family's motto "LiveLikeBella" garnered attention from Miami Heat and Miami Marlins players.

During the Eastern Conference Finals, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and other members of the Heat wrote #LiveLiveBella on their shoes.

The Miami Marlins hung a jersey that read #LiveLikeBella during a game.

Since her passing, Bella's family started the Live Like Bella Foundation for childhood cancer.

The foundation helps raise funds for cancer research in children and help families dealing with pediatric cancer.

County leaders including Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez and District 8 Commissioner Lynda Bell are expected to attend along with Bella's father, Raymond-Rodriguez-Torres.
