Sentencing Delay Granted For Wife Of Convicted Ponzi Schemer

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — A sentencing delay has been granted for the wife of convicted South Florida Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein.  However, the judge that granted the request warned this is the last one.

U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenbaum this week postponed sentencing for Kim Rothstein from Oct. 7 until Nov. 12. It's the latest of several delays to give Kim Rothstein time to testify in a related trial in hopes of getting a reduced sentence.

Rosenbaum says this will be the last delay no matter what.

Kim Rothstein faces a maximum of five years in prison sentence for hiding and trying to sell about $1 million in jewelry federal agents wanted to seize.

Scott Rothstein is serving 50 years for operating a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme involving fake legal settlements.
