Miami Tower To Turn Purple Saturday Night

MIAMI (CBSMiami) –Purple lights will illuminate the Miami Tower Saturday night to generate awareness for Alzheimer's Disease.

The downtown Miami building at 100 Southeast 2nd Street will start showing signs of purple at 7 p.m.

Purple is the 'cause color' of Alzheimer's Disease.

September is World Alzheimer's Month and the Alzheimer's Association Southeast Florida Chapter is encouraging members of the public to join efforts to increase support for finding a cure and caring for people with Alzheimer's.

The group encourages Facebook users to change their profile picture to and END ALZ graphic.

The  Alzheimer's Association of Southeast Florida Chapter Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place Saturday, October 12 at Marlins Park in Miami.
