Man Arrested, Charged With Sexual Battery On 3 Teens At Local Parks

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade Police arrested a man accused of raping three teenagers at gunpoint at two South Florida parks.

Erick Levant Wilson, 46, is charged with four counts of armed sexual battery, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of armed kidnapping.

On Tuesday, he was being held without bond at the Metro West Detention Center.

Wilson was arrested Friday after investigators said they were able to link him to attacks on unsuspecting young women this summer.

In the first case, a 17-year-old girl claimed Wilson forced her to have sex with him at Caribbean Park in Southwest Miami-Dade on June 5th.

Two and a half months later, police said Wilson targeted two teens at Southridge Park.

Cops say he demanded money from the young women, but when the victims told him they didn't have any, he led them to the bleachers, and made them perform sex acts on him and each other multiple times.

"These women either were too scared too even yell," Miami-Dade Police Det. Javier Baez said. "You have an individual holding a gun to them and that's how probably he was able to perform these acts on these women."

Police said there's often a false sense of security in public settings, including parks.

"That why we urge anyone, man or woman, when they walk in parks, or exercise outdoors, to make sure they do it in a lit area," Det. Baez said. "Make sure other people know they are out there."

According the the arrest affidavit, Wilson confessed to the crimes.

"It's possible that this individual has done this to other victims. If so, we want to speak with them," Det. Baez said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
