Broward Photographer Arrested For Child Porn & Underage Prostitution

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – A Pompano Beach photographer has been arrested on child porn and procuring an underage prostitute charges..

He has photographed the famous and anonymous, but on Friday morning prolific Broward based professional photographer Douglas Eaton found himself on the other side of the lens and one not so flattering.

Eaton faced a bond court judge to answer allegations that he had sex with a 15-year-old girl and that investigators found child pornography on his home computer.

"There were several images of children as young as eight and up to pre-teens and teenagers. In addition detectives have charged for arranging with an escort service to bring a teenage girl to his home. It's unclear if he requested a teenage girl but they engaged in sexual relations and he paid her 180 dollars," said Dani Moschella spokeswoman with the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Eaton ran "Doug's Photography" and his webpage shows a vast array of services from school kids to weddings and sporting events.

There are photographs of famed singer Gloria Estefan and former Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Pinellas—even shots of Broward's Sheriff Scott Israel and his family.

"Detectives have no indication that he has met any victims through that business but if you suspect he has they hope you contact detectives," said Moschella.

Even so the fallout has begun.

The Archdiocese of Miami sent a letter to parents that reads in part: "The Archdiocese learned this morning of the arrest of Doug Eaton who has done sports photographing for many private and public schools in many counties. As you know your child has participated in the teaching touching safety lessons and I ask you to take this opportunity to discuss any experience with Mr. Eaton that would have made your child feel uncomfortable."

And the Broward School District went further saying in a statement, "Upon being notified of his arrest, Doug Eaton is no longer permitted to be used as a vendor within the district. He was utilized as a photographer for a variety of events including athletic games and competitions."

At Eaton's Palm Aire home in Pompano Beach neighbors expressed surprise at the arrest

"I was shocked. He seemed like an upstanding citizen always involved in improving our community," said Association President John Aiello.

"I know he did photography but not a lot of traffic with young girls," said Aiello.

Eaton's bond was set at $101,000 with a lot of restrictions including being fitted with a GPS monitoring device and he's prohibited from photographing any women under 18-years-of-age.

"Obviously we are in the very early stages. We are going to enter a not guilty plea and fight the allegations," said Eaton's attorney Michael Gottlieb.
